Interested in becoming a Feathered Penny Senior Ambassador?

You might be a Feathered Penny senior if...

  • You need direction with posing. (Seriously -- what do you DO with your hands?) I will help you pose in flattering ways, including many that look unposed!

  • You value genuine interaction. Not only will I be real with you throughout our relationship, I also use prompts to elicit genuine reactions. (Those are what your family will remember in years to come, after all!)

  • You are okay with me TELLING CORNY AF JOKES. I will do just about a-n-y-t-h-i-n-g to get you to smile or laugh.

  • You appreciate letting your photos represent who you are right now. Want to bring along your trombone or cello, your poms or football jersey, your class ring, and the painting you spent all of last semester perfecting? YES! You aren't one-dimensional -- let's show you for the multifaceted, amazing person you are!

  • You know that your senior photographs will transport you back to this exciting year. Once your yearbook has been signed, the gifts opened and "thank you's" sent, and your cap and gown returned, you'll have your senior photos to look back on to remember this awesome time in your life.

Families

About Your Feathered Penny Family Session

It all starts with a hello.

You might be a Feathered Penny family if...

  • You need direction with posing. (Seriously -- what do you DO with your hands?) I will help you pose in flattering ways, including many that look unposed!

  • ...but You don't want all of your photos to be posed. I spend some time getting the traditional "look here and smile" photos so you can send some to those picky out-of-state aunts but I *love* ensuring that quite a few photos are filled with genuine reactions. (Those are what you will remember in years to come, after all!)

  • You consider the dogs to be part of the family. So do I! Bring them along, if you want -- they're kids, too.

  • You are okay with me TELLING CORNY AF JOKES. I will do just about a-n-y-t-h-i-n-g to get you to smile or laugh. (Don't worry -- I keep them family-friendly!)

  • You appreciate your photos representing who your family is right now. Maybe your daughter insists on taking her single portraits with her Olaf stuffy or your son is going through that not-smiling-at-anything teenager phase. I've worked with both of those situations (and many others!) before so don't fret. This is just who they are right now -- but now you have photographic evidence.

  • You want a variety of photos. I typically do several different setups of the entire family, a myriad of subgroups (each parent with all the kiddos, the kiddos, "just the boys," "just the girls," etc.), some of the parents by themselves, and a couple different portraits of each kid.

Littles

About Your Feathered Penny Littles Portrait Session

It all starts with a hello.

A Feathered Penny Littles session is right for you if...

  • You may have a specific set-up in mind. If you want some photos with a simple, outdoor set up to celebrate your kiddo's love of whatever it is they're into right now (Frozen?) or whatever their birthday theme of the year is going to be, let's chat!

  • ...and if you do, You don't want all of your photos to be from the set-up. I typically let the kiddo/s take the lead during their littles session, making sure to get quite a few photos of them playing or interacting with their environment. (Those are among the sweetest memories!)

  • You appreciate your photos representing who your kiddo is right now. Towards the end of your session, if your son or daughter refuses to put down their Olaf stuffy, don't fret. I've worked that situation (and many others!) before. This is just who your kiddo is right now -- and that's kind of the point of these sessions.

  • You're okay with your kiddo being a kid. If you don't have a set-up that you want, we'll spend our whole session just exploring the location -- and I'll be documenting their interactions with it. (Even if you do have a set up, we'll get to this point eventually.) If that means that they squat down to smell a dandelion or they climb on the playground equipment, you're welcoming of them just exploring. (Obviously, in a safe manner.)
